Service, Not Sales

Expert advice. No gimmicks or trickery

As an owner/operator, I only have one approach to my customers. That is to be honest, straight talking, courteous and professional.

Tree Work is Mostly Hard Work

But it is more often a satisfying occupation. Through 35 years in the trade, my work has been spread through England, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. From complex tree removals to delicate ornamental pruning, my experience is vast. In that sense I am very fortunate to have learned an array of tactics which enables me to get the best results for my customers and associates. Some significant techniques and equipment are highlighted below.

Crane-Assisted Tree Removal

This is a very specialized operation which can be employed where a jobsite is accessible with a Crane. A Crane offers the ability to lift, move, and lay out large sections of trees, with minimum impact.

Large and Small Woodchippers

Two different sized woodchippers to suit the scale and accessibility of your jobsite. Sometimes one shoe doesn't fit all.

Hazard Trees

The removal of dying, dead, decayed and unstable trees is a serious undertaking, requiring both experience and composure.

Hedges without the Headache

Perhaps the most aggravating noise associated with Tree, Landscape or Gardening work, is that produced by a Gas Powered Hedge Trimmer. There's just something about it that really upsets the neighbors in particular. But since investing in the latest Husqvarna, Battery powered, long reach Trimmers and Chainsaws, our customers and surrounding residents can hardly hear us working at all.

When it can't be dropped

This large Beech tree was situated over an asphalt driveway. In this instance we used 2 separate 5/8 ropes, 2 heavy duty pulleys with slings, and a double-bollard anchor, strapped to the bottom of the tree, to complete the fall arrest system for catching and lowering each log. I've used this system many times through the years.

Slowly, Carefully, Surely

This photo was taken at a height of 20ft and shows the latter stages of a diseased Sequoia removal. With no crane access, and only a 5ft landing zone below, the stem all had to be cut into 2x2ft blocks in order to bring it down safely. It took many hours to complete, but that's what was required to ensure no damage to the wall and driveway down below

Spurs and Flip-line

The evolution of Rope-Access Equipment and Techniques has come a long way in more recent years. The main emphasis being that of improved Ergonomics and Safety. But sometimes the simplistic methods of B.C's early logging pioneers are still the most effective to this day. Like most skills, they take time and persistence to learn and master.

Clean-up and Disposal

When the cutting is complete, you can expect a conscientious and thorough cleanup of the jobsite. Whether by hand or low impact machines, we will deal with the mess.
